After teasing the video on her social media pages, Grammy award-winning singer, Adele finally releases the visuals for her track, I Drink Wine off her latest album, 30.
The new video is the third visual from Adele’s third studio album, 30 having previously shared the visuals for Easy on Me and Oh My God. 30 was released on November 19, 2021, and became the best-selling album of 2021 just three days after its release. In February 2022, she performed I Drink Wine at the BRIT Awards, where she won Album of the Year for 30 and Song of the Year for Easy on Me.
The dreamlike Talbot-directed video shows Adele looking incredibly glamorous while wistfully floating along a river, apparently a metaphor for her passing memories, as she sips on rosé with shirtless hunks frolicking around her in the water.
The video opens with Adele floating in the river in a golden Valentino dress while pouring herself a rosé as she watches people live their lives on the shore. As she begins the chorus, synchronized swimmers begin to swim around her. A handsome topless young man and love interest swims up to Adele trying to propose to her. He’s rejected and pushed away by her synchronized friends who continue to dance in unison as the sun sets.
A day before its release, Adele went on Twitter to announce the coming of the video stating it was the first one she shut in the album and can’t wait for her fans to see it. She also went ahead on Tuesday evening to give fans a first look at the video by sharing a glimpse of herself in a shimmery outfit floating down the stream.
Expressing her excitement about the new video, Adele wrote while also sharing behind the scene shots, “had the loveliest night last night with some of you. Thank you so much for coming. So glad I got to meet you all individually too it warmed my heart getting to know you a bit.” “The I Drink Wine video is out now. Thank you Joe Talbot for creating a world for it and for putting the most incredible bunch of creatives together, you’re so talented and I’m honored to have worked with you all!” she added.
