Bella Shmurda has kept the ball rolling for over two years since he dropped his debut single, the Olamide-assisted Vision 2020 back in 2020. Since his debut, the gifted singer has gone ahead to churn out a couple of impressive singles and of course, his critically extended play titled High Tension and its sequel (version 2.0).

This year has obviously been a satisfying one for the lad, Bella has released a total of five singles this year: My Friend, Many Things, Fvck Off, New Born Fela, and Philo featuring Omah Lay. To round up what one might call a successful year, Bella Shmurda unveils his long-awaited debut album.

A new feather has been added to his dangbana cap as Bella Shmurda delivers his debut album. Dubbed “Hypertension,” the album’s title inspiration was obviously drawn from his previously released High Tension series.

The all-new Hypertension LP counts at a wholesome 15 tracks, it includes guest appearances from Popcaan, Phyno, Omah Lay, Simi, Victony, BackRoad Gee, Not3s, and L.A.X. The album kicks off with his previously released New Born Fela where he declares he is Fela Kuti (Nigeria’s foremost Afrobeat artist) who embodies Pan-Africanism, activism, and freedom fighting, in a new body. Then he moves to the next Ase where he speaks positivity into his life with a mixture of Yoruba language and Nigerian Pidgin.

Other noteworthy songs in the project include Contraband, Lagos City, Converse featuring Phyno, Philo with Omah Lay, and Nakupenda featuring the UK boys, BackRoad Gee, Not3s, and L.A.X. In conclusion, Bella Shmurda definitely knows his onions and Hypertension is a good listen.
