After announcing the release date for their collaborative album, in the new Jimmy Cooks video, it seems like we might have to wait a little longer to listen to Drake and 21 Savage’s Her Loss album as Drake announces the postponement of the project.

Drizzy disclosed to fans and the public on the night of October 26 via his Instagram story that his surprise album with 21 Savage would be delayed until Friday, November 4th instead of the initial October 28 as Drake’s long-time producer Noah “40” Shebib contracted coronavirus leading to a pause in production. The post read: “Our brother @OVO40 got COVID while mixing and mastering the crack so he’s resting up and NOVEMBER 4th is HER LOSS day we’ll see you soon.”

The hip-hop stars treated fans to a surprise by announcing the coming of their new album on October 19, 21 Savage’s birthday in the recently released Jimmy Cooks video. The video stopped midway at 1:25 to display a write-up that read: “HER LOSS ALBUM BY DRAKE AND 21 SAVAGE OCTOBER 28, 2022.”

Owing to this announcement, Hits Daily Double had reported earlier this week via “inside sources” that the album “was as much of a surprise to Republic brass as it was the artist’s fans” when it was announced last Saturday afternoon (Oct. 22).

Jimmy Cooks is the exit track on Drake’s Honestly Never Mind album released on June 17 to public acclaim. The track debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has been one of the fans’ favorites. Asides from Jimmy Cooks Drake and 21 have worked on other tracks like the Certified Lover Boy track, Knife Talk, and Drake’s verse on Mr. Right Now, from 21 Savage and Metro Boomin’s Savage Mode II. The upcoming Her Loss album would make their first joint project.

As the date for Her Loss has been shifted to November 4th, seven days away from the original date, we might have to adjust our notifications to listen to the goodness this magnetic collaboration is about to bring to our listening pleasure.
