The 2022 Super Bowl saw the Los Angeles Rams coming from behind to overcome the Cincinnati Bengals. However what brought emotions of tears and joy in the stars studded stadium is the half time show as everyone was dancing and singing along popular hits.
Super Bowl 56 reunited Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg as the rappers performed their famous hits “the next episode” and “California Love”.
Apart from the latter, the half time show showcased some of the biggest stars in the history of hip-hop and R&B like Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent.
Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre kicked off the half time show making a way for a series of trailers each one representing different parts of Los Angeles.
The American rapper and actor Busta Rhymes who was among the audience told the Entertainment Tonight that the super bowl half time show moment means the whole world to American culture.
“Everybody was rapping and singing along popular Hip Hop hits and the moment was beyond earth”.
Justin Bieber was raping along Eminem, Kanye West was in the same vibes to Snoop Dog as LeBron was to 50 Cent.
What those icons of Hip Hop did at Super Bowl half time show was nothing more than extraordinary. They basically reintroduced the music culture originating from the west coast of the United States to the rest of the world.
Fans in the stadium were calling the Hip hop icons the New Avengers. Lead by Dr. Dre, the half time show electrified the 70,000 seats SoFi Stadium as every artist accompanied by dancers was entertaining the audience to the best of his ability.
The half time show Executive producer said that the biggest challenge organizers had was getting the half time show to 14 minutes.
“Trying to figure out how everything will work was really hard as we had been in rehearsal over the last three weeks”, noted Jesse Collins.
This year Super bowl is the first time that Hip Hop is at the stage during half time show and the creative genius behind the show was Dr. Dre.
Dr. Dre has been impacting the American music industry for the last three decades. He directed the half time show in a way that brought everyone in tears.
“Everyone is in tears because you know that Dr. Dre changed the music. Look at the West Coast and he is continuing to change it over and over alongside Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Eminem and it goes on and one”, said the Super Bowl Executive producer Jessy Collins.
The 14 minutes half time Super Bowl Show was the fastest rehearsal in the FNL history. Jessy Collins said that the organizers made sure that there was a lot of production value light in the stadium, huge sets and just monster hits and artists.
“One thing we prove tonight is that hip hop is part of the American DNA and part of our culture forever”, underlined Jessy Collins.
He added that just like Rock and Roll, blues and others, Hip Hop is right here and it is never going away.
“It is Americana period.”
A few days before the half time show, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg explained to the media what makes the Super Bowl Half time show moment so special.
“I am not trying to be egoistic or something like that but who else could do this show here in LA”, questioned Dr. Dre. He went on asking who else could perform the half time show other than the amazing artists that he had put together.
Snoop Dogg added that Super Bowl is the biggest sporting event in the world and Hip hop is the biggest form of music in the world.
“And for us to have an opportunity to bring the two world together is just an amazing experience”, noted the Hip Hop household name.
Dr. Dre and Snoop Dog have been friends and collaborators over the last 30 years. They have been close ever since they worked together on Dr.’s Dre debut solo album, The Chronic, which got released in 1992.
