Nigerian singer-songwriter, Mayorkun has halted his concert in Toronto, Canada giving fans an explanation on why the cancellation was necessary. The concert which was set to take place on the 25th of October at the Opera House in Toronto as part of his The Mayor of Lagos North American Tour ’22 has been put to a stop.
Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, popularly known as Mayorkun, is currently having a good time in 2022. As a follow-up to his 2021 sophomore album Back In Office, the singer churned out Certified Loner (No Competition) and kept the ball rolling. He was also involved in one of the biggest Ghanaian songs this year, the Camidoh-led Sugarcane featuring King Promise, Darkoo, and Mayorkun.
Mayorkun kicked off his North American Tour back on September 28, 2022, in Chicago, United States. He later made stops in cities like Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, New York, Houston, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and more.
According to the singer, the reason for the cancellation was untrollable, he made a post on his Instagram story revealing that he and his team had tried to secure the necessary permits required to hold a concert but were not successful in their attempts and, as such, can not hold a concert till this is rectified and sorted out.
In his own words, “Toront0! I’m sorry I won’t be performing at the show tomorrow. My team and I have done everything within our control to secure the required permits to allow me to perform but to no avail. It’s so sad we’re doing this but we’ll have to postpone the concert to a later date.”
Sources have revealed that his management is currently working on a new date and the people of Toronto will definitely have a moment with Mayorkun soon.
