Soulja Boy has vowed to ditch his rap career to become an actor and focus on upcoming TV and film roles.
On January 2nd, the ‘Crank That’ rapper announced via Instagram Live that he will put music on the backburner in 2022 and claimed, “I’m an actor now.”
During the live stream, Soulja Boy revealed that he will appear in a new TV show on Revolt, which will debut on January 21st. Revolt was initially founded by P Diddy in 2013, and the channel focuses on Hip Hop culture and social justice. However, at present, the show’s premise is still unknown.
Speaking of his move to acting, the established artist said, “My new TV show [is] coming out January 21 [with] Revolt TV. Shout-out to P. Diddy.” He continued, “We going into the year with all positive energy. You know what I’m saying? I ain’t got no beef with nobody. I ain’t got no smoke, no problems, no nothing. All I’m doing is TV shows and movies.”
The beef that Soulja Boy referred to during the Instagram stream is likely his dispute with Kanye West during the summer of 2021. Soulja Boy sparked the Twitter feud after Kanye cut his verse from ‘Remote Control’, a track featured on Kanye’s album, ‘Donda’.
However, Kanye put the feud to bed in November following a sincere apology.
