Nigerian songbird, Ayra Starr is having a good time in 2022. With releases like Rush and Bloody Samaritan Remix which features American veteran singer, Kelly Rowland already in the bag, it’s a no-brainer she’s having an amazing campaign so far.
Just as she previously announced, Ayra Starr has released the deluxe edition of her critically acclaimed debut album, 19 & Dangerous. A total of six new and re-brushed tracks were added to the project including Bloody Samaritan Remix featuring Kelly Rowland, Lonely Refix featuring Zinoleesky, Ase, Rush, Running featuring Lojay, and Skinny Girl Anthem featuring Kayykilo.
The album counts at a wholesome 16 tracks with guest appearances by Kelly Rowland, CKay, Zinoleesky, Kayykilo, Foushee, and Lojay. For the production, Ayra Starr collaborates with Loudaa, London, Kill September, Niphkeyz, Fwdslxsh, Don Jazzy, Johnny Drille, Andre Vibez, Hoops, and DYLAN GRAHAM.
Ayra Starr is a potential global superstar. Born in Benin Republic, the 20-year-old was raised between its beach city, Cotonou and the cultural hub of Lagos, Nigeria. This mix of cultures inspires her global approach to music, art and life. She’s inspired by the regal earthiness of Angelique Kidjo, Rihanna’s feisty confidence, as well as 90s fashion icons, and the edgy aesthetic of emo-pop.
2022 has proceeded in a similar style. Collaborating with multiple artists across the continent and featuring on two bestsellers with her label mates, Ayra continues on her upward trajectory. With a strong opening statement and millions of fans waiting for her next move, Ayra Starr is giving skinny black girls a new voice.
