Yesterday Fireboy DML tweeted to express his love and appreciation to everyone of the genius minds who worked with him on this project, and to his teams at YBNL and Empire.

The Empire music label recently tweeted as follow:

“After much anticipation, @fireboydml finally unleashes his new album #Playboy with features from @chrisbrown, @asakemusik & more 🇳🇬💿🔥”

The music label, distributor and publisher is one of the partners that worked with the singer to make PLAYBOY a reality.

Olamide the Nigerian rapper and YBNL Nation label boss that signed Fireboy in 2018 said that he is proud that the world is tapping into Fireboy’s songs.

“His sound is just amazing”, added Fireboy’s mentor and one of the biggest and most influential artists in Africa.

It is said by his close entourage that Fireboy had the album ready since October 2021.

In February this year, Olamide went on his Twitter page to threaten Fireboy DML to either pick a date for the album’s drop or risk his album being leaked.

Olamide has watched the soulful young singer rise on the global stage, from his breakout single “Jealous” to his debut album Laughter, Tears & Goosebumps since signing Fireboy to his YBNL Nation Label in 2018.

Bandana, one of the 14 songs on PLAYBOY album he collaborated with his fellow Nigerian music artist Asake is now reclaiming the Number 1 spot on Nigeria Apple music Top songs.

Empire label music said that Fireboy DML’s journey to make Playboy a reality has been one filled with hard work, dedication & inspiration 🏆🇳🇬

Hard work is a characteristic that defines Fireboy DML’s work ethic since he started his music career in 2012.

When Olamide met him for the first time he was impressed by the young man’s voice which he describe as “so unique”.

“When I got to hear his music and see his video, I was like this dude is dope”, noted YBNL Nation boss.

He added that at the time he met Fireboy he was tired of signing new artists but when he heard his sound he couldn’t resist.

Fireboy DML started music when he was in his second year at the university in his home country Nigeria.

By the time he was going to the university, he thought he would end up a scholar, a doctor, or a teacher.

But he found himself in the studio one night and made his first record.

“From that moment when I went back to my university room and listened to it, my life just changed”, says Fireboy DML.

He added that the fact that he could create something like that in such circumstances made him realize that music is what he wants to do for the rest of his life.
