Fast-rising Nigerian singer cum rapper, Victony reimagines Davido’s first major hit single ‘Dami Duro’ on the first-ever Spotify single from Nigeria.
Exclusively available on Spotify, the record breathes a new life and gives a new perspective to Davido’s Dami Duro. It is a disco-inspired take on the decade-old smash by the Nigerian international superstar, Davido.
The Spotify Singles program was created to provide artists with the opportunity to re-record one of their existing songs in a fresh new way, as well as cover a song of their choice by one of their own musical heroes. It is an outlet for artists to express themselves, engage their fans with new content, and connect with new listeners.
As a celebration of the legacy of Nigeria’s prosperous music history, Spotify is rendering reimagined and remade renditions (Spotify Singles) of Nigerian modern-day classics by selected artists. On its first Nigerian edition, Victony takes the torch as he creates a reimagination of Davido’s Dami Duro. The new Spotify Singles for Nigeria reflects Spotify’s commitment to being the global hub for the discovery and growth of Nigerian and African music.

Victony is one of the brightest artists out of Nigeria at the moment. He was introduced into the music industry when he churned out his 2020 extended play, Saturn: a fusion of Afrobeats, R&B, and Hip-Hop. So far, the singer has scored a couple of hit records including the Tempoe-assisted ‘Soweto‘ which is housed under his latest and critically acclaimed body of work, the 7-track Outlaw EP.
Dami Duro was initially released by Davido back in 2012 as a follow-up to his 2011 debut single ‘Back When‘ featuring Naeto C. The song went ahead to become a major hit in the African continent, marking Davido’s proper introduction to the music industry. Ten years later, the rest is history!
