Channel 4 has confirmed Tuesday 13th September at 8 PM as the date for Season 13 of The Great British Bake Off on your TV screens.

The popular baking show is coming back with a brand-new batch of contestants, the channel has confirmed.

Announcing the news on Twitter, Channel 4 said: “Are you bready for brand new Bake Off? #GBBO returns Tues 13th September at 8 pm 8 pm.”

Judges Paul Hollywood and Dame Prue Leith will return alongside presenters Matt Lucas and Noel Fielding in the show’s famous tent for another series of signature, technical and showstopper bakes.

The fan-favorite baking show will return in the same week as the launch of Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday, September 17, marking a bumper week of TV.

“The Great British Bake Off is the ultimate baking battle where passionate amateur baking fans compete to be crowned the UK’s Best Amateur Baker”, describes the Great British Bake Off website.

Throughout 10 hour-long episodes, the series follows the trials and tribulations of the competitors, young and old, from every background and every corner of Britain, as they attempt to prove their baking prowess.

Each week the bakers tackle a different baking skill, which becomes progressively more difficult as the competition unfolds. One contestant is eliminated in each round, and the winner is selected from the contestants who reach the final.

Netflix has also announced the return of the flagship baking competition show to Netflix US alongside two spin-offs in 2022. The streaming service has confirmed they’ll get weekly episodes again but only said that it’ll be available in Fall 2022.

For the past few years on Netflix US, you’ve been getting annual servings of The Great British Baking Show (known as The Great British Bake-off in the United Kingdom).

Netflix has now confirmed that season 13 (labeled as collection 10 on Netflix) will be coming to Netflix and the Junior and Holiday spin-offs are also on the way.

For years, Netflix US (and Netflix US only) has been home to The Great British Baking Show. Before 2017, the service had all the PBS seasons of the shows and its various spinoffs ( all of which have now sadly departed) but for the past few years, Netflix has carried the show exclusively. Netflix US receives weekly episodes in previous years.

Often abbreviated to Bake Off or GBBO, the first episode was aired on 17 August 2010 with its first four series broadcast on BBC Two. The British television baking competition is now produced by Love productions.
