On January 31st five-time Grammy award-winning rapper and Young Money boss, Lil Wayne announced that he will be going on a 28-city North American tour dubbed “Welcome to Tha Carter Tour.”

The Tour would launch on April 4 at the Fillmore Minneapolis, Minnesota, and will continue in Detroit, Houston, Toronto, Newyork, and Canada wrapping up on May 13 at the Wiltern in Los Angeles.

The Welcome to Tha Carter Tour is presented by Young Money, Rolling Loud, and Live Station. The tickets would start selling on Friday(February 3) via Live Nation.

The tour announcement comes ahead of The Recording Academy’s Black Music Collective pre-Grammy event, where Lil Wayne is set to receive the Global Impact Award to honor his legendary contributions to the music industry. He will be honored alongside his ‘favorite rapper’ Missy Elliot and Dr. Dre.

While Lil Wayne prepares to bag the Grammy Global Impact Award and kickstart his tour he’s kept himself busy with his forthcoming album, Tha Carter 6, which he announced during his Young Money with Drake and Nicki Minaj at the 6 God’s October World Weekend festival last summer. Tha Carter 6 will serve as the sequel to his 2018 Tha Carter V and Lil Wayne’s first project since Funeral in 2020.

Earlier this month he also joined forces with dynamic house music duo SIDEPIECE for the first-ever remix of his 2008 smash hit A Milli. Weezy also recently garnered his first diamond certification from the RIAA for his generational smash Lollipop featuring Static Major.

Speaking on the Welcome to Tha Carter Tour, Lil Wayne posted a picture on Instagram announcing the tour dates alongside a caption that read “#WelcometoThaCarterTour coming to a city near you. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 am EST at Lilwayneofficial.com.”
