After stealing the show at AfroNation Miami, and opening for afrobeats legend Burna Boy at his sold-out London Stadium show earlier this month, fast-rising London-based Nigerian singer, songwriter, and musician NISSI is set to captivate audiences once again with her latest musical masterpiece titled ‘HIGHER’. The gifted artist, known for her soulful and infectious energy, has released a sensational new track that promises to uplift and inspire listeners around the globe.

‘Higher’ captures NISSI’s exceptional vocal prowess and empowering lyrics, over infectious beats, and vibrant melodies. The track is an anthem of self-belief, resilience, and reaching for one’s dreams. Drawing from her personal experiences, NISSI’s lyrics in ‘Higher’ encourage listeners to embrace the different stages of life while being hardworking. The song’s uplifting message is complemented by NISSI’s powerful vocal delivery that carries the listener on a journey of hope and self-discovery.

Speaking on the inspiration being ‘Higher’, NISSI shares, “This song is a song of strength to celebrate the human spirit, an anthem for anyone who has ever dared to dream and pushed beyond their limits. I want listeners to feel empowered and inspired to rise above any obstacles they may face in life. ‘Higher’ represents my personal journey, and I hope it resonates with others as well”.

London-based Nigerian singer, songwriter, musician, fine artist, engineer, and animator Nissi Ogulu, popularly known as Nissi, describes her work as a perfect melange of all the components of her life – one that merges her passion for music, with her knack for engineering, product design, and art.

Renowned for her artistic flair and the ability to seamlessly weave her creativity around her music, Nissi has collaborated with Stromae, BackRoad Gee, and Major League DJz, among others, while also working with the likes of Range Rover, Flannels, and Havana Club. Her goal is to connect with people through her art, and for that connection to make a positive impact, she wants everything she does to inspire people to be the fullest and best version of themselves in every way that is authentic to them.

She is the perfect example of a multi-faceted individual who seeks to embrace rather than resent the many questions we as humans have about the world and about ourselves. Nissi is also passionate about women’s entrepreneurship and empowerment, and she firmly believes that rightfully positioning women as go-getters is the best way to switch the narrative of the African woman’s limitations.
