As a pathway to his forthcoming album ‘It’s Only Me,’ Atlanta rapper, Lil Baby unlocks a new single titled ‘Detox.’ The track holds a tremendous performance from Lil Baby and a fairly minimalistic production from Nick Papz, Cubeatz, Eza, KJ, and London Jae.

Announcing the new music, the Atlanta rapper to his Instagram page to say: “Baby Takeover Starts Now 😮‍💨😮‍💨 ….. Let’s Get Ittttttt,” no doubt it’s been a summer takeover for Lil Baby.

He previously appeared on DJ Khaled’s God Did album twice, including the feature with Drake on Staying Alive, he teamed up with Travis Scott and Nav in July on Never Sleep and Senior on last month’s Come Up. Earlier in March, he made a promise, “this summer mines” and “it’s gonna be a nasty summer” on different posts on social media and the boy has been living up to it.

Detox sees Lil baby dropping some fine bars on a moderate tempo beat. He starts with a musical gesture to Nick Paps to begin the beat. “Yo Nick Paps make it slap.” He raps about not wanting to see a girl because he’s trying to ‘detox’ her. He goes on to drop some braggadocious lyrics on his achievements and rep naming this as one of the things that makes the girl want him. “She like me, ’cause I’m G, buy her Givenchy,” he says in a part in the chorus.

I been actin’ way too humble. Graduated the streets with honors, I Cashed out with all blue hundreds, I See through that cap shit, cut it out. Way too young and turnt to settle down. I built niggas up that let me down… Roll me up one. Tell my chauffeur pull my car up to the drivеway. Wake her up, tell her, her ride ready,” he raps in the first verse.

The track gives off different switches that take you from dramatic tunes at the beginning to a high-tempo trap and a catchy chorus that makes you want to do those head-bopping moves and sing along.

Detox is the latest drop from Lil Baby this year following the release of Right On, In a Minute, and Frozen including various features he has worked on. Lil Baby previously teased the release of his next album It’s Only Me, the follow-up to 2020s My Turn with a preview of a song that he tagged as the first single of the forthcoming album.

He also wrapped up his One of Them Ones tour with Chris Brown and debuted his documentary Untrapped: The Full Story of Lil Baby on Amazon Prime Video.
